Greek specialties from the most diverse, which decorated the dishes and attracted the attention of the guests to try them, were placed within the showcase of “Greek cuisine and wine pairing”, organized by the Greek Liaison Office in Prishtina, “Hellenic”.
Famous personalities and political figures from the country, the region and beyond were invited to see, taste and appreciate the Greek cuisine prepared by the well-known Greek chef, Konstantinos Slambakis.
The host of this event, Ambassador Heleni Vakali, Head of the Liaison Office of Greece in Kosovo, expressed her happiness for the large number of Kosovar tourists visiting the cities of Greece, singling out Thessaloniki. She said that Greece has always been fully supportive of visa liberalization for Kosovo citizens.
Vakali emphasized that the geographical proximity between Kosovo and Greece contributes to the transformation of tourist interactions, thus creating opportunities for the deepening of a natural friendship.
Ambassador Vakali emphasized that the increase in tourist flows from Kosovo to Greece is not only related to the economic aspects of tourism, but also to the rapprochement of the two peoples.
Meanwhile, the head of Marketing at the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization, Grigoris Toulias, said that during the past year there has been a large increase in Kosovar visits to Thessaloniki, for which he added that Kosovo is a priority, because according to him it can help achieve the goals to have tourism throughout the year in Thessaloniki.
He emphasized that the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization considers the Kosovo market as very important, adding that they offer the opportunity to go on vacation and visit this city.
He describes Thessaloniki as a destination with a great variety of experiences, as a city with more than 2000 years of history, having the same layers of history in the city center from the Byzantine, Ottoman, Roman periods, and with 15 UNESCO monuments.
Meanwhile, the well-known Greek chef who also prepared the menu for the guests, emphasizing the flavors and traditions of Greek cuisine, complemented by a selection of excellent Greek wines, Konstantinos Slambakis shows details regarding the preparation of the specialties from Greek cuisine. Until he specified as the main dish that of octopus with tomatoes and other ingredients.
He also mentioned the “bougatsa” dessert, as a traditional Greek preparation with cream and caramel.
