As part of the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in Washington, the governor of the Central Bank of Kosovo, Ahmet Ismaili, was received in a meeting by the Deputy Assistant Secretary at US Department of the Treasury, Luyen Tran, as part of the partnership between the CBK and the US Department of the Treasury.
Governor Ismaili expressed his profound appreciation for the US Treasury’s unwavering support, particularly on the occasion of the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo. He acknowledged the important role of the US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Technical Assistance (OTA) in building a strong and resilient central bank for Kosovo, highlighting their continuous efforts in strengthening the CBK’s key functions and capabilities.
“The continuous dedication of the US Department of the Treasury has been fundamental in advancing our mission and capacity. Your support has played a key role in enabling us to strengthen Kosovo’s financial system, ensuring stability, resilience, and alignment with international best practices”, he said.
Ismaili emphasized that this cooperation has been decisive in the governing framework, increasing regulatory supervision and strengthening the sustainability of the financial sector.
He also reconfirmed the CBK’s commitment to maintaining a close partnership with the US Treasury as it continues to pursue initiatives that will ensure economic growth and financial stability in Kosovo.
This meeting served as an opportunity to further deepen collaboration and strengthen ties between the CBK and the US Treasury.
