GLPS: Kosovo should align its legislation with that of the European Union

On the way to the European Union, Kosovo must harmonize the legislation in the field of environment.

The Group for Legal and Political Studies is considering that there is not enough transparency and that there should be greater involvement of the public in decision-making.

This was said that in the discussion with the topic “Kosovo and European standards in the field of the environment “How is the right of citizens to participate in environmental matters guaranteed”, where it was emphasized that there are many problems in the implementation of the law in this field.

The Deputy Minister of Environment, Linda Çavdarbasha, said that the legislation is aligned with EU standards.

Further, the deputy minister added that after issuing the environmental consent, changes are hardly being made after the reactions of the citizens of an area.
