The Central Election Commission announced the final results of the first round of Local Elections for Mayors of 37 Municipalities, which were held on October 17, 2021. In Gjakova, the current mayor and candidate of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ardian Gjini will be in the runoff with the former mayor and candidate of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Mimoza Kusari-Lila.
Gjini came out first with 18,973 votes or 45.76%, while Kusari-Lila is second with 15,426 votes or 37.20%. The difference between the candidates is 3,547 votes.
