Four Pristina flights affected from the airport workers strike in Germany

The one-day strike by workers at 13 airports in Germany has resulted in the cancellation of four flights at Pristina International Airport.

The spokesperson for Pristina Airport, Valentina Gara, told KosovaPress that four flights from Pristina have been canceled, and these were planned cancellations that did not cause any congestion at Pristina Airport.

“Due to the strike at several airports in Germany, four flights departing from our airport have been canceled. Since these were planned cancellations, they did not cause any congestion at our airport. For the rest of the day, we do not have any other flights scheduled to Germany,” emphasized Gara.

The strike, led by the Verdi union, started suddenly on Sunday at Hamburg Airport and spread across Germany. Passengers in Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin, and other airports have been warned not to travel, as operations are heavily disrupted.

Verdi is demanding an 8 percent increase in salaries or at least 350 euros more per month, as well as improvements in working conditions. Employers have rejected the demands as unaffordable. The strike is expected to continue this week in other cities as well.
