Durmishi: Flagrant misuse of driver’s licenses will be investigated by the Basic Prosecutions

The Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Hysen Durmishi, has stated that from yesterday the appointments for driver’s license exam and the practical part will be possible through the e-Kosova platform.

In a statement for journalists, Durmishi announced that the Ministry of Infrastructure for the first time has also made a handbook for driver’s licenses.

Durmishi said that despite efforts for a legal system for legal driver’s licenses, criminals are finding ways to obtain driver’s licenses in a corrupt manner. He emphasized that there are many drivers who are illegally equipped with driver’s licenses and are present in traffic.

Further, Deputy Minister Durmishi said that based on the findings in the Peja unit, they encountered 666 candidates who passed the exams there during 2023, and those candidates themselves were from other cities and that this method is suspicious.

He said that many files have inconsistencies with the legal rules of obtaining a driver’s license, as he added that all these candidates will be investigated and their driver’s license will be confiscated and they will be re-tested in other ways.
