The company that developed the works on the roof of the municipality has a history of fraud in public procurement, it is stated in the analysis “The collapse of the roof of the building of the Municipality of Prishtina – alarm for the fight against corruption in public procurement” carried out by Democracy Plus.
Democracy Plus considers that the case of the collapse of the roof of the building of the Municipality of Prishtina reflects the consequences caused by the lack of sanctioning of companies that violate the Public Procurement Law.
Ardit Dragusha from Democracy Plus said that this analysis aims to reveal certain cases of fraud in public procurement, which have not been sanctioned by the responsible bodies.
He emphasized that the owner of this company was convicted in two different cases by a court decision for forgery and fraud in public procurement.
Furthermore, he emphasized that the Municipality of Suhareka and the Prosecutorial Council had not submitted a request to the public procurement review body for the disqualification of the relevant company.
Egzona Kozhani from Democracy Plus said that such punishments are not proportionate to the level of risk.
