Concerns about the abuse with the quota for enrollment of minority students in public universities

The Deputy Prime Minister for Minority Affairs and Human Rights, Emilija Rexhepi, today met representatives of educational institutions in Kosovo, where the non-application of quotas for registration of non-majority students in public universities in Kosovo was raised as a concern.

In this meeting with the topic “Education of non-majority communities in the Republic of Kosovo”, Rexhepi said that in this way they are trying to find solutions to the education problems faced by the communities in Kosovo.

Emphasizing the lack of textbooks, she said that the authors of books in the Turkish and Bosnian languages have been provided with the same financial opportunities as the authors of books in the Albanian language.

This meeting was attended by rectors of public universities, directors of schools and directors of departments of education in municipalities where minority communities mainly live.
