CDHRF: Prisoners deserve more attention from the state

The Council for the Defense of Human Rights and Freedoms has encouraged the Ministry of Justice, in the framework of the promised reforms, to pay special attention to improving the conditions for persons deprived of their liberty, as well as correctional and administrative staff, especially in the field of executions of criminal sanctions, respectively the more efficient implementation of legal mechanisms that regulate the benefits of convicts who have good behavior.

Regarding the benefits that have brought good, CDHRF has mentioned the increase of weekends at home, for those who work regularly, the use of annual leave in accordance with the Labor Law, the Law on Amnesty, Replacement of the prison with alternative punishment measures after serving a part of the sentence for lower risk offenses, as well as the possibility that the year of serving the sentence is not counted as 12 months but 10 months.
