The Kosovar and Serbian sides left Monday’s meeting in Brussels, mediated by the head of the European Union’s foreign policy, Josep Borrell, without any agreement.
The latter directed the responsibility in particular to the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, saying that he did not accept the EU’s proposal that Kosovo should not start issuing fines for drivers of cars with illegal license plates.
The approach of the EU’s chief diplomat is being criticized in Kosovo, calling it tendentious and biased towards Kosovo.
The president of the country, Vjosa Osmani, wrote about this, stressing that the first rule of any mediation process is impartiality, which, according to her, Josep Borrell lacked on Monday.
