The first deputy prime minister in the Government of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, has expressed his opposition to Brussels’ request for a meeting next week on the issue of the dinar, on the grounds that this topic is not part of the dialogue.
Bislimi said that this is not a meeting where the chief negotiator should go because the dinar issue is not part of the dialogue. He noted that he will be present when the Basic Agreement is discussed.
As for his statement a few days ago where he asked the EU to lift the measures against Kosovo, Bislimi said that “it was a request” it was not a threat. According to him, Kosovo has neither the capacity nor the interest to threaten the EU.
This is what he announced after the round table “Economic development for Serbs in Kosovo”, organized in Çagllavica by the Center for Humanitarian Dialogue, as he also told about the attitude of the allied countries.
Bislimi has also responded to his post on X, with which he criticized chief negotiator Miroslav Lajçak for his meeting with civil society organizations from the Serbian side.
Meanwhile, when asked about his statement given a few days ago where he asked the EU to lift the measures, he said that this statement cannot be taken as a threat, since according to him, Kosovo has neither the capacity nor the interest to threaten the EU.
