The Basic Court in Mitrovica has ordered the arrest and escort by force of the former Chief of Operations of the Kosovo Police, Zeljko Bojic, who is suspected of criminal offenses, “Abuse of official position or authority” and “obstruction of evidence or official procedure” .
It is learned that according to the indictment, which was filed against the defendant on June 19, 2020, the event took place during 2015 in the north of Mitrovica, while the Anti-Drug Unit was conducting an action aimed at seizing a large amount of drugs from a Land Rover vehicle.
However, it is suspected that by order of Lieutenant Bojic, certain individuals of the crime had managed to obstruct the Anti-Drug Unit, thus disabling police action.
Bojic has been away from Kosovo for more than two years, while he is said to be hiding in Serbia.
We recall that in the statement of the US Treasury Department, Zeljko Bojic is identified as a participant in the organized crime group, a group that was engaged in large-scale bribery schemes with Kosovo and Serbian security officials, who facilitate illegal trafficking in goods, money, narcotics and weapons between Kosovo and Serbia. / KosovaPress /
