The opposition MPs have continued with their efforts to block the proceedings in the Parliament of Albania. “We don’t want a monist parliament”, “Killers of pluralism”, “Killers of democracy”, were the messages written on the banners they were holding.
Positioned next to the rostrum of the ministers’ table, they used loud whistles throughout the session. Meanwhile, the parliamentary majority for about 12 minutes of the session have approved three normative acts, four draft laws and five draft decisions.
At the beginning of the session, Speaker Lindita Nikolla asked the guards to leave their position in front of the ministers’ table. The entire session was held under tense conditions, until the work began with the voting of the planned items on the agenda.
The Speaker of the Assembly of Albania several times invited the MPs to vacate the rostrum and take their seats.
The opposition MPs have decided to block the sessions of the assembly, as they consider that the parliamentary majority has made it impossible for them to set up parliamentary investigative commissions and that they are not allowed to replace the members of the electoral reform commission./Sh.
