In the General Assembly of the Association of Kosovo Municipalities that was held today, and which was chaired by the current chairman Imri Ahmeti, the board and the new chairman were elected for the next four-year term. In this meeting, with a majority of votes and based on the formula according to the Statute of AKM based on local elections of 2021, the new president of the Association of Kosovo Municipalities was elected Agim Aliu – mayor of Ferizaj while Imri Ahmeti – Mayor of Lipjan, was elected vice president.
The elected members of the board are: Shaqir Totaj – Mayor of Prizren, Bali Muharremaj – Mayor of Suhareka, Xhafer Gashi – Mayor of Obiliq, Sokol Haliti – Mayor of Viti and Dragan Petkovic – Mayor Municipality of Partesh. The General Assembly of the Association of Kosovo Municipalities by a majority of votes has approved the annual reports for 2021 and plans for 2022. In this meeting of the Assembly were discussed topics of lobbying in the interest of local government in the Republic of Kosovo.
