The former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Meliza Haradinaj, reacted after allowing vehicles with RKS license plates to enter Serbia, for which she said that it is in Serbia’s interest to take small incremental steps. Thus, Haradinaj has said that Serbia successfully removes international pressure.
In this regard, she has listed some of the reasons that, according to her, cause Serbia to have such an approach.
“It is Serbia’s interest to make small incremental steps (usually insignificant) in relations to Kosovo, so that:
1. International pressure successfully remains lifted off Serbia;
2. The pile of EU-mediated Agreements & implementation plans are never fully implemented;
3. Undefined dialogue lasts forever without a timeframe/epilogue.
Reportedly, today Serbia decided to recognise the Republic of Kosovo’s licence plates, 12 years after the EU-mediated agreement on plates and IDs is signed. With this pace, Serbia will fully implement the totality of 35+ agreements with Kosovo by year 2443, namely in the 25th century!”, she wrote in X.
