On May 30, 1989, a demonstration against the Serbian regime was organized in Podujeva. On that day, a group of diplomats from Europe were visiting Kosovo and exactly on this day, the so-called “Llap Squad” came out in military uniforms in the streets of Podujeva. Ali Ajeti was killed in an armed clash, while several others were injured.
