The last decision of the Government of Kosovo to allocate 100 additional euros for children and pensioners has been criticized by the opposition and economic experts. Whereas the majority praises that they are fulfilling the promises given by the executive.
The opposition calls the amount allocated by the government for these categories a fraud on citizens “to secure votes next year”. The same ask the ruling party to create long-term foundations for these categories. Meanwhile, Vetëvendosje MPs consider that this money will help these categories of citizens at the end of this year. As they agree with the fact that there should be a long-term increase in pensions and allowances for children.
The MP of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Ferat Shala tells KosovaPress that the purpose of this decision is for political purposes.
The LDK MP, Besian Mustafa, also says that this decision of the government does not bring a solution. He considers that the Government should spend on capital investments in order to generate income for the citizens and not with short-term packages.
Meanwhile, the AAK MP, Time Kadrijaj, has made fun of this allocation of the budget, calling the government’s latest decision as “alms”. She added that the government is trying to cover up the scandals with these allowances.
Meanwhile, the MP from the majority, Visar Korenica, praised this decision, saying that this government is fulfilling its promises. Although he adds that it would be good if there was an increase in pensions and income for children in accordance with the state budget.
Also, the economic expert, Mustafa Kadriaj criticized this decision. He believes that the Government should increase salaries and not offer something on a short-term basis.
At Wednesday’s meeting, the government allocated 40 million euros for the KSF and 100 euros each for children and pensioners. It is considered that around 60 million euros is the cost of the last decision for support for children and the pensioners. /E.Krasniqi/
