Russian Ambassador Vasily Nebenzya, at the meeting of the UN Security Council, once again recalled the strong ties that Serbia and Russia have with each other, saying that “Serbia and Russia have historical ties”.
Serbia and Russia recently signed an agreement which was criticized by the West, for reducing Serbia to two seats, while it demanded explanations for the agreement.
Commenting on this agreement, the Russian ambassador on Tuesday before the UN Security Council accused Western countries of asking Serbia to change its approach towards Russia, when, as he said, the historical Serbian-Russian ties are known.
He drew a parallel between Russia’s war of conquest in Ukraine and the recent war in Kosovo, for which he also accused the West of double standards.
