Today, March 8 – International Women’s Day, also known as Mother’s Day is marked. This celebration began on March 8, 1857, when New York laundresses rose in protest of their rights against the oppression and brutal exploitation of them and their children at work. 100 women from many European and United States countries, gathered in Copenhagen, Denmark, under the chairmanship of Klara Cetkin, and decided to mark March 8 as International Women’s Day.
In honor of this day, mothers and women are given various gifts, where the most common gift is a flower, which has the symbol of respect and love. Kosovo has the right of women guaranteed by law, where in many state institutions, women’s participation is defined by law.
