The mayor, Agim Bahtiri, accompanied by the director for Culture, Youth and Sports, Tafil Peci, during the day gave the two main awards of the athlete of 2020. The professional jury, has declared the football player Endrina Elezaj as the sportswoman of 2020, Elezaj is a football player of the Women’s Football Club “Mitrovica”, while the “Lah Nimani” award was given to the well-known former football player, Xhavit Ala, who was also a donor of the club football “Trepca”, during the years 1989-1998.
On this occasion, Mayor Bahtiri, said that the year 2020 was generally a difficult year, not only for sports but also for many other sectors due to the pandemic situation caused by the Covid-19 virus, but still Mitrovica athletes with dedication and Extraordinary will achieved excellent results, with which not only they as municipal institution, but also all citizens of Mitrovica are proud and grateful. Mayor Bahtiri promised the athletes that the municipality will do everything possible in 2021, to provide even better working conditions, so that athletes continue on their path to success.
