Judoist Akil Gjakova lost the opportunity for the bronze medal, as he failed to defeat Rustam Orujov of Azerbaijan. Akili also lost in the quarterfinals to Mongolia’s rival Oshir Tsend.
Akili previously won against his opponents, Sweden’s Tommy Macias fifth in the world rankings, followed by Nils Stump of Switzerland and Ahmed Ayash of Yemen. The European champion competed in the category up to 73 kg of judo.
