The University Clinical and Hospital Service of Kosovo (HUCSK) has received a donation from the Italian KFOR in Kosovo on Friday for the Pediatric Clinic.
At the acceptance ceremony, the Minister of Health, Rifat Latifi, said that the donated equipment will increase the health capacities, especially in the services in the field of cardiology for children.
He said that the training of health staff for the necessary equipment will soon begin, which will increase the service and the capacity of interventions for children with heart defects.
“Over the years, Italy has helped the health system in Kosovo to provide better quality services aimed at increasing health capacities, especially in the field of cardiology, especially that of children. Now they will provide the training of surgeons, anesthetists, nurses and the infrastructure for the necessary equipment for the services we need in Kosovo. These trainings will begin this year and will significantly increase the services and quality of interventions for children with heart defects. But we know that there cannot be quality services without the improvement of human capacities and without the necessary infrastructure. We are fully dedicated as a government and a minister to raise the human and infrastructure capacities to stop the flow of our patients abroad. It is our obligation to take care of this equioment in our service”, he said.
The Italian ambassador to Kosovo, Antonello De Riu, was also part of the ceremony, who said that his country will always support the health system of Kosovo.
