The elections and the lifting of EU measures against Kosovo discussed in the meeting between Kurti and Orav

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, received today in a meeting the Head of the European Union Office in Kosovo, Ambassador Aivo Orav.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office, Ambassador Orav positively assessed the February 9 election process.

"During the meeting, Ambassador Orav positively assessed the February 9 election process, describing it as orderly and without incidents, and emphasized that it was also positively assessed by Brussels. Ambassador Orav congratulated the Prime Minister on the victory and the result in these elections. Together, they discussed the next steps towards the constitution of the Assembly and the formation of the new Government of the Republic of Kosovo," the statement reads.

Prime minister Kurti and ambassador Orav also discussed the necessity of lifting the measures against Kosovo by the European Union and the need for a speedy review of Kosovo's application for EU membership.

The European Union Ambassador to Kosovo, Aivo Orav, visited the three political entities, the Democratic Party of Kosovo, the Democratic League of Kosovo and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, where the main topic of the meetings was the electoral process in Kosovo.

The political parties showed that they respect the will of the citizens expressed through their votes.
