The ninth and tenth training sessions for young people from the Rom, Ashkali, and Egyptian communities continued today as part of the project “Challenging Negative Stereotypes of the Rom, Ashkali, and Egyptian Communities in Kosovo through Media Initiatives,” which is being implemented with the support of the United Nations Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) and initiated by the Center for Innovations and Development (CFID) in partnership with the news agency KosovaPress.

This project aims to empower young people from the Rom, Ashkali, and Egyptian communities by equipping them with skills and opportunities to challenge negative stereotypes and help create a positive, inclusive, and unbiased media narrative for these groups.

Participants are developing professional skills in journalism, media production, and videography through specialized training.
Currently, the journalism module training is ongoing.

So far, 10 sessions of the journalism module have been held, with two more sessions, 11 and 12, remaining, which will conclude at the end of this week.

After completing the training, the young participants will have the opportunity to continue with professional internships at various media outlets in Kosovo, contributing to the creation of content that reflects the reality of their communities in a positive light.

This is an important step toward building a fairer and more inclusive society for all citizens of Kosovo.
