A new law is being drafted by the Government of Kosovo on protection from discrimination in accordance with the human rights standards of the Council of Europe, which will address racial discrimination and antigypsyism.

This was stated by the country’s Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, at the Western Balkans Summit against racial discrimination “Lessons learned, recommendations, and further steps in combating racial discrimination – antigypsyism”.

Kurti added that through the provision of social services, their families have been helped to apply for participation in the piloting of the new social scheme.

17 percent of the individuals benefiting from the scheme are from the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities.
