The high prices of private psychological services are the reason why most citizens are not continuing the psychological sessions they need for the illness they need to treat.

The association of psychologists has also complained about this increase in prices, which they call as the main culprit the failure to open a chamber of psychologists, which would set the prices and check the licenses of these psychologists.

The director of the Psychiatry Clinic at UCCK, Faton Kutllovci, told KosovaPress that six psychologists are employed in this clinic, three for adults and three for children.

Regarding the prices, he emphasized that if they are determined by the Ministry of Health, then he is not against the increase of these prices.

Kutllovci appeals for psychologists not to influence clients to stop therapy, if it has been prescribed by a psychiatrist or mental health professional, because it is a mistake.

Meanwhile, the director of the association of psychologists, Ilir Havolli, asks the Ministry of Health to increase the number of psychologists in public institutions because the moment a client with a psychological concern calls the psychologist, the first question is how much the psychological session costs.

And a citizen who did not want to speak in front of the camera emphasized that he has anxiety, but the reason why he does not go to psychological sessions is their high price.

"I personally have anxiety, but two sessions cost 80 euros, I can't go, I don't know if our mental health or the benefit from these diseases is more important", emphasized the citizen.

KosovaPress also contacted one of the well-known psychologists in Pristina, who indicated that the price of a psychological session costs 40 euros.
