A memorial plaque-obelisk has been unveiled in honour of martyr Ali Ajeti in Miroc, Podujeva. He gave his life for the freedom of Kosovo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The mother of the martyr, Vahide Ajeti, emotionally thanked those present for honouring her son.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI am happy, I pray that their blood is not lost, and I thank you very much. But what can we do for the mothers who have remained without any busts, what can we do, let those mothers also be patient,\u201d<\/em> Ajeti said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Mayor of Podujeva, Shpejtim Bulliqi, said that Ali Ajeti was among the early activists of the resistance for Kosovo\u2019s freedom and that his sacrifice remains an inspiration for younger generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ali Ajeti\u2019s friend and fellow activist, Ismet Abdullahu, recalled the events of May 30, 1989, when, according to him, Ali Ajeti was killed while protecting students and his comrades from the police forces of the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He said that the protesters had faced police intervention, while Ali Ajeti continued his resistance up to the place where the memorial plaque now stands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThis day reminds us of an extremely important but also painful and proud event from 27 years ago, because on that occasion the national martyr Ali Ajeti fell heroically, while saving his comrades and students who were organized to avoid being arrested by the police unit of that time. Ali was injured a little further while protecting the students so they would not be arrested by the police during the protests of May 30. We were illegal at that time, for three months since March, all of us. We had collectively decided that with the arrival of parliamentary forces in Kosovo, we would come out and express the dissatisfaction of the citizens of Kosovo, in Podujeva and throughout Kosovo, but unfortunately this did not happen in other municipalities,\u201d <\/em>Abdullahu said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Speaking on behalf of the family, Isa Ajeti said that the bust will stand as an eternal symbol of glory, sacrifice, and the resilience of the people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At the end of the ceremony, family members, institutional representatives, and citizens unveiled the memorial plaque of hero Ali Ajeti.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" A memorial plaque-obelisk has been unveiled in honour of martyr Ali Ajeti in Miroc, Podujeva.
