The Basic Prosecution in Prizren has announced that on Wednesday it filed an indictment against the defendant with the initials D.D. over a fatal traffic accident that occurred on March 18, 2026, on \u201cWesley Clark\u201d street in Prizren, where a pedestrian lost their life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the indictment issued by the Department for Serious Crimes, the suspect, who has been in pre-trial detention since the day of the incident, is suspected of committing the criminal offence of \u201cendangering public traffic.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Prosecution states that D.D., while driving his vehicle, failed to adjust his speed to the legal limit set for that section of the road, where a maximum speed of 40 kilometres per hour was allowed. According to the indictment, he was travelling at a speed of 75 kilometres per hour near a pedestrian walkway, close to a roundabout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a result of the high speed, the defendant failed to notice the pedestrian I.O. in time, who was crossing the pedestrian crossing, hitting him and causing a fatal accident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The victim died as a result of the severe injuries sustained in the accident, while the autopsy report confirmed that death occurred due to injuries caused in the traffic accident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The case prosecutor has proposed to the court that, after the main trial and examination of evidence, the defendant be found guilty and sentenced in accordance with the law.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
