Around 100 eighth- and ninth-grade students from primary schools in the municipalities of Fush\u00eb Kosova, Mitrovica, and Shtime are participating in a two-day search and rescue and survival training held at the Search and Rescue Centre in Berim (Qeqev\u00eb), in the municipality of Zubin Potok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The activity, organized by the Emergency Management Agency within the Ministry of Internal Affairs, is being held to mark International Children\u2019s Day and includes theoretical lectures and practical exercises on emergency response, search and rescue, and survival in nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Around 200 people are participating in the training, including students and accompanying staff. Security structures, staff from the Regional Police Directorate in the North, representatives of the Emergency Management Agency, as well as mayors of the participating municipalities are involved in the organization and implementation of the activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the opening of the camp, acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti said the activity will enable students to gain knowledge and practical skills in search and rescue and emergency response.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDear children, I am very happy that today we are marking June 1 here at Ujman, with the opening of this camping activity in Zubin Potok. This activity will enable teachers and instructors to enrich their professional knowledge and experience, while you, dear students, after two days will return home more prepared and more aware of the importance of search and rescue, which is one of the main pillars of this camp. In this first camp, organized by our institutions in cooperation with associations and their partners, you will gain valuable practical knowledge and skills, from responding to fires using appropriate equipment to providing first aid. All this knowledge will serve you not only for the protection of nature and human life, but also for your personal development,\u201d <\/em>Kurti said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Acting Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Svecla said the camp is only the beginning of a program aimed at including students from all municipalities in Kosovo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThis is only the beginning of an uninterrupted series of trainings for our children across Kosovo, who, through cooperation with municipalities, will come here for training. Through the engagement of various organizations and institutions, they will gain knowledge, experience, but also, as the Prime Minister said, enjoyment and adventure. In this first round, there are students from Fush\u00eb Kosova, Shtime, and Mitrovica.
