Around 100 eighth- and ninth-grade students from primary schools in the municipalities of Fush\u00eb Kosova, Mitrovica and Shtime are taking part in a two-day search and rescue and survival training held at the Search and Rescue Centre in Berim (Qeqev\u00eb), in the municipality of Zubin Potok, as reported by KosovaPress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The activity is being organized by the Emergency Management Agency within the Ministry of Internal Affairs, marking International Children\u2019s Day. The training includes theoretical lectures and practical exercises on responding to emergency situations, search and rescue operations, and survival in the wild.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Around 200 people are participating in the training, including students and accompanying staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Security structures, staff from the Regional Police Directorate in the North, representatives of the Emergency Management Agency, as well as mayors of the participating municipalities are involved in the organization and implementation of the activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Svecla is also attending the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Support for the training has also been provided by the Kosovo Search and Rescue Association, the \u201cTrepca\u201d diving group, as well as professional fire and rescue units from the municipalities of Mitrovica, Vushtrri, Prishtina and Prizren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the organizers, the aim of the activity is to raise awareness and skills among young people for responding to emergencies, strengthening safety culture, and familiarizing them with basic search and rescue and survival procedures in the field. The training is being held as part of International Children\u2019s Day, offering students an educational and practical experience in emergency management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
