The second edition of the academic event \u201cDays of History\u201d has begun today, where it was emphasized that the study of history is important for both the past and the future, while it was also highlighted that student interest in history has now increased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This edition is organized by the Department of History at the University of Prishtina within the Faculty of Philosophy. The head of the department, Professor Mentor Haziri, officially opened \u201cDays of History\u201d, an event attended by professors, researchers, students, and guests from the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAlthough there has been a decline in the number of students in recent years, history in the past year has seen a revival of student interest, and this is also a major contribution of the department staff and the publications that have been produced, as there are a series of monographs, scientific articles in credible journals within and outside the country. Some of these publications will certainly be presented on Thursday, when we will promote the works of the staff of the Department of History,\u201d <\/em>said Haziri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Professor Bekim Maliqi, emphasized the importance of studying history and its impact on building the future of society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As part of the \u201cDays of History\u201d activity, certificates of appreciation were awarded to scholarship students of the department, which bear the name of the national hero and former history student Rustem Hyseni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On this occasion, an emotional speech was held by his brother, Muj Hyseni, who recalled Rustem Hyseni\u2019s final moments and writings during the war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Within the framework of the event, a lecture was also held by Selami Zalli, director of the Directorate for Citizens\u2019 Requests and Rehabilitation Services at the Authority for Information on Documents of the former State Security, who stated that every citizen has the right to be informed about documents created by the former State Security during the communist period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He emphasized that the purpose of the law is to establish historical truth, protect human rights, and prevent the re-victimization of people affected by the communist regime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Over five days, the event will bring together professors, researchers, students, and international guests in lectures, book presentations, academic discussions, and study visits to historically significant sites in Kosovo, aiming to promote historical studies and encourage academic debate.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The second edition of the academic event \u201cDays of History\u201d has begun today, where it was emphasized that the study of history is important for both the past and the future, while it was also highlighted that student interest in history has now increased.
