According to KosovaPress, a total of fourteen measles cases have been confirmed in Kosovo between 16 April and 12 May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All confirmed cases are unvaccinated with the MMR vaccine (measles, mumps, and rubella), and are currently being treated at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The highest number of cases by municipality has been reported in Ferizaj with five cases, Prishtina with three, Kacanik with three, and one case each in Lipjan, Fush\u00eb Kosov\u00eb, and Gjilan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Given the highly contagious nature of measles and the risk of further spread, IKSHPK has urgently called on parents to check their children\u2019s vaccination records and vaccinate them at the nearest Family Medicine Center in their respective municipalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is also recommended to avoid unnecessary contact with suspected measles cases showing symptoms such as high fever, rash, skin changes, cough, or runny nose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the field, unvaccinated children are also being identified, with parents being contacted by mobile teams from Family Medicine Centers to bring their children for vaccination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IKSHPK reminds that vaccination remains the most effective and safest way to prevent measles and protect public health.
