Prishtina Mayor P\u00ebrparim Rama has again spoken about coalition arrangements in the capital. Although the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) said on Tuesday that there is no coalition with the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Rama has mentioned joint governance with several parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a Facebook statement, Rama said that \u201cgovernance is, at its core, responsibility towards the citizen.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rama, who yesterday announced the appointment of Besian\u00eb Musmurati as deputy mayor of the municipality, added that \u201cpolitics should not be an end in itself, but a means to achieve the public good: for the citizen.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCitizens do not live in parties; they live in a shared community, therefore they are a shared responsibility. Their needs are not a matter of political interpretation, but an obligation for immediate concrete solutions. I am against any divisive rhetoric. We are one PEOPLE. One STATE. Therefore, we need a shared vision, stability, and responsible institutional actions from each of us,\u201d Rama wrote, among other things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He stressed that by placing the citizen at the center and being aware that power is service, not an instrument of blockage, they have finalized joint governance in the capital with the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), the Social Democratic Initiative (Nisma), the \u201cLidhja p\u00ebr Prishtin\u00ebn,\u201d and most recently the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIn this framework, the appointments from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) have been made in line with proposals coming from the \u2018Collegium\u2019 composed of the five branches of Prishtina, a mechanism established by LDK itself, which ensures representation, balance, and internal legitimacy. In parallel, representatives of our partners from AAK, Nisma, Lidhja p\u00ebr Prishtin\u00ebn, and PDK have also been appointed, reflecting an inclusive and functional approach.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Despite the differences that have emerged regarding the coalitions, Rama pledged his support for LDK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cJust as I unconditionally supported the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) in the previous elections, I will support it in these elections as well, with the conviction that democracy, institutional stability, and state-building culture must be continuously protected and strengthened.
