Acting President Albulena Haxhiu has left open the possibility of not appointing the tenth member of the Central Election Commission (CEC), following claims from LVV and PDK regarding the position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She said that the CEC functions even with nine members delegated by political parties, and that the tenth member is the chairperson, Kreshnik Radoniqi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to her, all legal deadlines have already passed and she does not know whether there will be a decision on this matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSince all deadlines for appointing another member have passed, I will treat this with the utmost seriousness. What was important for me was to understand whether the CEC would be blocked without this member. I have received information that nothing is endangered by this situation, therefore I will act in line with my responsibilities when I deem it necessary to act. I have two requests, one from LVV and one from PDK, but as you know, my position on this has been the same for some time, not only since I took office. I don\u2019t know whether there will be a decision, we will see, but what is important for me is that the political power given by the citizens of Kosovo is respected.
