The Minister of Industry, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, in a press conference after the government meeting, said she hopes that an agreement will be reached today in the meeting between the country\u2019s Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, and the leader of the LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku, regarding the issue of the presidency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She recalled that so far neither the PDK nor the LDK have proposed any initiative to resolve the presidential issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI hope that there will be an agreement today. I would like to remind you that throughout this entire period it has only been Prime Minister Kurti and the Vet\u00ebvendosje Movement who have made proposals for the name of the president. In no case so far, from all meetings, whether with the Democratic League of Kosovo or the Democratic Party of Kosovo, have there been proposals or any initiative to resolve the issue of the president or to provide a concrete name to which we could respond,\u201d<\/em> she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Regarding early elections, Kusari said they would not only bring costs but also delays and further disruptions to the essential functions of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cTherefore, we hope that there will be an agreement, although this is a direct competence of the Prime Minister, who, in his capacity as leader of the Vet\u00ebvendosje Movement, is conducting these meetings, in order to avoid what is least needed or completely unnecessary\u2014going to early elections. Early elections would not only bring costs but also delays and disruptions to the vital functions of our state, and would also risk some processes that are already in a very positive dynamic in our country,\u201d <\/em>she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Regarding PDK\u2019s request for a written invitation from Prime Minister Kurti, Kusari said it could be done, but that discussions must still take place on the principle of electing the president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI reiterate that so far there has only been an initiative or invitation from Prime Minister Kurti, while the Democratic Party, as we have all heard through public opinion, is expecting a written offer. If the invitation needs to be in writing, it could also be done, although there still needs to be discussion on the principle of election and concrete names that the Democratic Party of Kosovo could also propose for the presidency of the country.
