The Assembly of Kosovo is currently reviewing in its first reading the Draft Law on the State Bureau for Verification and Confiscation of Unjustified Assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Deputy of the Vet\u00ebvendosje Movement, Adnan Rrustemi, has urged MPs, especially those from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), not to refer the law to the Constitutional Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was later responded to by PDK MP P\u00ebrparim Gruda, who said that consultations should take place between the two readings of the law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The proposal is simple, Mr. Adnan: between the two readings we sit down, organize public consultation, sit together and address each and every objection of the Constitutional Court, we make it in harmony with the Constitution of Kosovo and we come and adopt it together. If you want to pass the law, allow public consultation, allow discussion to make the law in line with the Constitution of Kosovo. If you do not allow it, you are showing that you are not interested in passing the law. If you do not allow public consultation, then you are forcing us to go to the Constitutional Court,”<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He added that it is not a shame but an honor to go to the Constitutional Court.“Do not prejudge where someone goes, because going to the Constitutional Court is an honor, it is not a shame. It is an honor because it is the Constitutional Court of Kosovo and it is the protector of the Constitution.
