With 25 days remaining within the constitutional deadline to elect the head of state, Vitia said that the main focus of Vet\u00ebvendosje and Kurti is to avoid early elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat Prime Minister Kurti and the Vet\u00ebvendosje Movement are doing is working to avoid elections. This will continue until the last day, with meetings, proposals and every possible option to avoid elections. Elections do not bring any different result, and in that sense it is a loss in relation to many good things for citizens. It is something that will not significantly change the outcome, so why go through all these additional election costs and an unnecessary process,\u201d <\/em>Vitia said at a press conference after the government meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The issue of the presidency was also addressed by Kurti\u2019s coalition partner, Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade Mimoza Kusari-Lila.<\/p>\n\n\n\n She was more skeptical about a presidential agreement, following what she described as the sharp disputes on Thursday in the Assembly session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWhat we saw yesterday regarding citizens\u2019 priorities did not align with the behavior of some representatives of opposition parties. From the PDK leaving the chamber and the approach and communication of a leader of another opposition party, as well as the non-voting of four international agreements, it does not really give the impression that there is space and discourse for cooperation.
