Kosovo\u2019s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Glauk Konjufca, announced that, at the invitation of the United Kingdom\u2019s Foreign Secretary, Yvette Cooper, he participated in \u201ca high-level virtual meeting with over 40 foreign ministers from different countries around the world to discuss the situation in the Strait of Hormuz.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Konjufca said the meeting clearly emphasized that freedom of navigation cannot be called into question and that \u201cinternational trade corridors must not be used as instruments of pressure.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe protection of civilian vessels and respect for international law are non-negotiable principles. The Republic of Kosovo strongly condemns Iran\u2019s attacks that violate these principles. We stand in line with our partners in calling for the Strait of Hormuz to be reopened as soon as possible and in a safe manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Disruptions in these vital routes are not only a regional issue, but directly affect the economies and stability of many countries, including our own. They impact global supply chains, energy prices, and overall economic security. For this reason, international action is essential to ensure stability and the normal functioning of these strategic corridors,\u201d Konjufca said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
