Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that during his meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron they discussed strengthening defence capabilities and relations with Kosovo\u2019s northern neighbour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During a working lunch on Friday afternoon, Kurti said that for about two hours at the \u00c9lys\u00e9e Palace they discussed topics related to integration, security, defence, and the country\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOn Friday afternoon I was a guest of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, at a meeting and working lunch at the \u00c9lys\u00e9e Palace. The warm welcome was followed by a deep and sincere discussion lasting about two hours, focused on cooperation and integration, security and defence, as well as the economy and development. With President Macron we discussed our path toward membership in the European Union and other international organizations. We also discussed the important and continuous role of NATO in Kosovo, cooperation with Euro-Atlantic allies, and regional security in the Balkans,\u201d <\/em>he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In his address to the government cabinet, Kurti emphasized that the engagement of French partners in preparations for hosting the 2030 Mediterranean Games is very important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cStrengthening defence capabilities and relations with Kosovo\u2019s northern neighbour were issues we discussed with the French President in the context of our country\u2019s security. The organization of new Kosovo\u2013France business forums, as a continuation of the successful one held last month in Pristina, as well as plans and investments in education, were also topics of the meeting.
