MPs from both the ruling party and the opposition in Kosovo voted in favor of the budget for Zubin Potok and several international agreements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Committee on Budget approved the draft law on the ratification of the loan agreement for the \u201cPristina\u2013Mitrovica high-speed road project\u201d between the Saudi Fund for Development and the Republic of Kosovo. It also approved a loan agreement between Kosovo and the European Investment Bank for the \u201cSolar Photovoltaic Energy in KEK \u2013 Global Gateway\u201d project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the review of the Zubin Potok municipal budget, Finance Minister Hekuran Murati recommended its approval, stating that the total budget amounts to 3.6 million euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The budget was approved with seven votes in favor, none against, and no abstentions. The committee also recommended that the budget be reflected in the official budget tables of the Republic of Kosovo for 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The committee further reviewed the loan agreement for the Pristina\u2013Mitrovica road project, which aims to connect the capital with Vushtrri and Mitrovica. The total financing for this segment is approximately 13 million euros, with additional contribution from the Government of Kosovo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another agreement approved during the meeting focuses on investment in renewable energy through the public enterprise KEK. The project includes the installation of 100 megawatts of solar capacity, expected to generate around 152 gigawatt-hours of electricity annually. The European Investment Bank loan for this project amounts to 33 million euros, as part of a broader investment package estimated at 104 million euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite general support, concerns were raised by opposition representatives regarding potential implementation challenges, particularly due to environmental factors near Obiliq.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
