The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, said on Wednesday that she did not decree the second member of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) to the Central Election Commission (CEC) because political parties proposed more members than allowed by the Constitution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Vet\u00ebvendosje Movement sent three names to the Presidency, PDK sent two, while other parliamentary parties sent one each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She said this was the reason she referred the issue to the country\u2019s highest court, as there were doubts regarding the appointment of a member for whom, according to her, both LVV and PDK have claims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBecause three were requested by Vet\u00ebvendosje, while only two are allowed, and two were requested by PDK while only one was appointed. This is because there are more proposals than the Constitution allows. Since this issue has not yet been clarified by the Constitutional Court, I requested clarification now. This case is raised on a different legal basis, not the same as in previous cases, whether by President Thaci or by me. This issue has been unclear over the years for each president, and once clarified, the process will continue,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to her, the case sent to the Constitutional Court refers to Article 113 of the Constitution, unlike past cases where such doubts existed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Osmani said the Constitutional Court must issue a verdict to clarify this issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cNow we have raised the case on a different constitutional basis, Article 113. I hope the Court will give an answer. It\u2019s not only that one PDK member was not appointed; one LVV member was also not appointed,\u201d <\/em>Osmani added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n She made these statements after participating in Women\u2019s Week in Prishtina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
