The Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague have lifted the restriction on visits by one person, but on the condition that the visits are monitored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Single Judge Christopher Gosnell, in the trial of Hashim Thaci and others in the case concerning obstruction of justice, has issued a decision on the review of Hashim Thaci\u2019s detention conditions, KosovaPress reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement from the Kosovo Specialist Chambers, it is said that \u201cthe Single Judge lifted the ban on non-privileged visits by one person for whom restrictions had previously been imposed, on the condition that the visits are monitored.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Judge Gosnell upheld the existing restrictions on non-privileged visits to Thaci by certain individuals, stating that \u201cthey remain necessary and proportionate.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the trial against Hashim Thaci, Bashkim Smakaj, Isni Kilaj, Fadil Fazliu, and Hajredin Kuci, who are accused of obstruction of justice, the prosecution\u2019s evidence phase has been completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Specialist Chambers announced last week that any defense motions to dismiss the charges must be submitted by March 23, 2026, and any responses by the Specialist Prosecutor\u2019s Office must be filed by March 25, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Defense\u2019s opening statements will take place on April 7, 2026, while defense witnesses will be heard until April 24.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
