The Basic Court in Gjakova has approved the request of the Basic Prosecutor\u2019s Office, ordering a one-month pre-trial detention for the suspect with the initials N.Z., on suspicion of committing the criminal offenses of \u201caggravated murder\u201d and \u201cunauthorized possession, control, or handling of weapons.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Prosecutor\u2019s Office also provided details regarding the killing that occurred on March 16, 2026, around 05:20, on \u201cV\u00ebllez\u00ebrit Frash\u00ebri\u201d Street in Gjakova.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is stated that the killing, which took place in a local establishment, is suspected to have followed a dispute, where the accused allegedly fired a gun at the victim with the initials R.B., who, as a result of the injuries sustained, died near the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Basic Court in Gjakova has approved the request of the Basic Prosecutor\u2019s Office of Gjakova, ordering a one (1) month pre-trial detention for the accused N.Z., due to reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal offenses of aggravated murder and unauthorized possession, control, or handling of weapons. According to the Prosecutor\u2019s request, among other things, it is stated that on 16.03.2026 at 05:20 in Gjakova, on \u2018V\u00ebllez\u00ebrit Frash\u00ebri\u2019 Street, precisely in the establishment \u2018M.P.\u2019, the accused intentionally deprived the now-deceased R.B. of life, while also endangering the life of the injured E.M. and other persons present at the scene. On the day in question, while the accused was with E.M. and others at the scene, he allegedly shot several times with his TT-type pistol at R.B., who as a result of the shots to different parts of his body, died near the scene,\u201d <\/em>the statement reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The statement also notes that the shots endangered the lives of other people present in the establishment, while the injured person with the initials E.M. suffered bodily injuries and was taken for treatment to the Regional Hospital in Gjakova.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cFurthermore, as a result of the shooting, the accused endangered the lives of others. The injured E.M. sustained bodily injuries and was taken to the emergency department of the Regional Hospital \u2018Isa Grezda\u2019 in Gjakova for medical treatment, while the accused fled the scene. The preliminary procedure judge, Samedin Cena, last night, after holding the hearing, assessed that the legal conditions for ordering pre-trial detention for the accused were met.
