Sweden\u2019s Ambassador to Kosovo, Jonas Westerlund, has called for the integration of Serbian education and healthcare into Kosovo\u2019s system to take place within the framework of the Kosovo\u2013Serbia dialogue, KosovaPress reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking on this topic during a discussion at the Media Center on Monday, he said that Kosovo\u2019s law should be applicable in all 38 municipalities in the country, but added that integration into Kosovo\u2019s system should occur within the framework of the Brussels dialogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe believe that Kosovo\u2019s law should be applicable in all 38 municipalities. I want to say that integration should ultimately happen in these matters. I have heard the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, who says that Serbian doctors and professors have obtained our licenses, and this is a good sign. I hope that the acting government will continue to review these issues. All citizens should receive education and healthcare services in accordance with the needs of local communities. I think the important issue is that we should not have obstacles when it comes to health and education\u2026 This must be done through dialogue. We need to talk with local communities, and this should be discussed with the EU Special Representative. We consider that this should happen within that dialogue,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The integration of education and healthcare into Kosovo\u2019s system was also considered inevitable by the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly from the Serbian community, Nenad Rashiq.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, he added that modalities need to be found for this to happen in practice and to comply with the laws and Constitution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSeveral times I have insisted on starting preparations for what I earlier called inevitable if this happens. This involves finding different modalities that would be suitable for the system, in this case the Kosovo system. I want to remind that in every agreement it was emphasized that the agreement would be harmonized with the Constitution and laws of Kosovo. Whatever happens later will be in accordance with the Constitution and laws of Kosovo,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
