Acting Minister of Health Arben Vitia has confirmed that he was interviewed by the Special Prosecutor\u2019s Office, but did not provide details about the interview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After today\u2019s visit to the Kosovo Chamber of Doctors together with Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Vitia said that the reasons for the interview will be clarified by the Special Prosecutor\u2019s Office and by himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Regarding the decision of the Constitutional Court that annulled several laws for administrative reasons, including the Law on Mandatory Health Insurance, Acting Minister of Health Arben Vitia described the court\u2019s decision as wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis will be clarified both by the Special Prosecutor\u2019s Office and by me,\u201d Vitia stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that immediately after the constitution of the Assembly of Kosovo, the law will be resubmitted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI believe that it was not about the health insurance law per se; it was a decision related to what I would say was a conditional annulment of several laws for administrative reasons, as they put it. I think it was wrong, of course from my point of view, in the sense that they had no remarks regarding the health insurance law as we presented it, which is necessary for the implementation of the Health Insurance Fund. Because I hear from some that it is a law from 2013\u20132014 and that it only needed to be maintained, which is not true. We have changed it. So, this is bad news, but immediately after the constitution of the Assembly of the Republic, we will proceed with the same steps by sending it as soon as possible to the Assembly to move forward quickly with this law, which also opens the legal path and then the technical and logistical path, first for the establishment of the Health Information System and then for the Health Insurance Fund,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Regarding the construction of the new gynecology hospital, Vitia said they have already received confirmation from the United Arab Emirates that the funds have been allocated and that it will be built next to the Children\u2019s Clinic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We are now in a very advanced phase. We have confirmation that the funds have already been allocated, and the idea is for it to be built almost adjacent to the already modern pediatric hospital and to be connected through warm corridors, as modern hospitals around the world do,\u201d the acting minister stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As for the absence of doctors during working hours due to engagement in the private sector, Vitia said that the Health Inspectorate has imposed fines and hundreds of disciplinary measures, including for leaving the workplace.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
