The defendant, Naim Murseli, during his testimony today stated that he had a good relationship with his former wife, Liridona Ademaj. He even described the deceased as a wonderful mother and a devoted spouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During his testimony, Murseli said that his former wife had no reason to complain, as, according to him, he never exercised violence against her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI got engaged to Liridona on April 21, 2010, and we were married on December 11, 2011. That means I had 12 years of marriage with Liridona, and as a result of that marriage we have two children. Our relationship, my relationship with Liridona, was very good and happy. Liridona was a wonderful woman, a very devoted mother and a dedicated wife\u2026 The first five years with Liridona were difficult because her greatest wish was to become a mother and she had problems getting pregnant. For five years I took her to hospitals, and finally in 2017 her dream came true\u2014she became a mother, I became a father, and just a year and a half later, by God\u2019s will, our second child was born. We lived together the entire time; there was never any separation or anything like that. Everything was fine between us, as also stated by the witness Kanun Kokalla and Leonard himself\u2026 She had no reason to complain because, in my entire life, God forbid, I have never exercised violence or anything of that sort. Those things never existed in our relationship,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Murseli said that they had sufficient income, stating that his annual income was around 45,000 euros, while Liridona Ademaj earned about 20,000 euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When asked about the insurance policy that the deceased had in Sweden, he said that every Swedish citizen has home and life insurance, and in this case both he and Liridona had such insurance in the same amount.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI had the same insurance that Liridona had, in the same amount. This has also been confirmed to me by the prosecution through the information it obtained. It is completely normal to have an insurance policy, but the amount of 3 million Swedish kronor, around 260,000 euros, is not the maximum amount of an insurance policy. It can go up to 600,000 euros if the party is interested. Every insurance policy is personal; I cannot open an insurance policy for Liridona without her being present, or vice versa,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When asked by his defense lawyer whether there had been any cooling of relations, Murseli denied such a claim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLike any couple, I won\u2019t say that our marriage never had arguments, but not to the point of a cooling of relations. Everything was fine,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to the businesses and jobs he ran in Sweden, the defendant Naim Murseli said that he is also a shareholder in a company in Kosovo. However, he claimed that in 2023 he and Liridona had also purchased a house where they lived together until the moment of her murder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Regarding his relationship with Kushtrim Kokalla and Granit Plava, Murseli said that he had met Plava through Kushtrim Kokalla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLiridona came specifically from Sweden in June 2023 just to become a co-owner of the house that I bought with her. From June until November, I was constantly working on that house to make it ready for living, and we lived there together until the critical day. As for my relationships with Kushtrim Kokalla and Granit Plava, this was the first time in my life that I stayed alone with Granit Plava, without Kushtrim Kokalla. On two other occasions, I met him together with Kushtrim Kokalla, my cousin. I had no friendship or anything like that with Granit Plava. I don\u2019t know his parents, sisters, or brothers\u2014I don\u2019t know him at all. I know him very little, only through Kushtrim. I never met his family, nor did they meet me\u2026 We talked about going out for walks and such things,\u201d he declared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As for the purchase of the weapon with which Liridona Ademaj is suspected to have been killed, he claimed that it was bought solely for the purpose of resale by Granit Plava.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGranit was interested and told me, \u2018I\u2019ll sell this the next day, I\u2019ll sell it for double.\u2019 It was bought only for resale and nothing else.
