The Basic Court in Mitrovica has extended the detention of former Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs member V.M. for another two months, who is suspected of being involved in the kidnapping and wounding of Millan Vukashinovi\u0107, KosovaPress reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The spokesperson for the Basic Court in Mitrovica, Hateme Haxhaj, confirmed to KosovaPress that, at the request of the Basic Prosecution, the detention of the defendant has been extended from January 19 until March 19, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
V.M. was arrested on December 20, 2025, in Leshak during a joint operation by the Kosovo Police and the Kosovo Intelligence Agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Acting Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sve\u00e7la, had stated that the suspect was a former member of the Serbian MIA previously integrated into the Kosovo Police under the 2013 agreement, from which he later resigned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Sve\u00e7la, there are suspicions that V.M. continuously collaborated with Serbian security structures, including in the case of Millan Vukashinovi\u0107\u2019s kidnapping, during which he was seriously injured and is being treated in a hospital in Serbia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following the court order, the Kosovo Police searched the suspect\u2019s house and associated premises, seizing nine mobile phones, a laptop, three A4-sized documents, a hunting rifle with 39 bullets, a bulletproof vest, and a gun barrel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Millan Vukashinovi\u0107, a citizen of the Republic of Kosovo of Serbian nationality, is suspected of having been injured and kidnapped on November 1, 2025, near Leposaviq by the Serbian gendarmerie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
