{"id":79386,"date":"2026-01-14T12:03:59","date_gmt":"2026-01-14T12:03:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kosovapress.com\/eng\/admin\/?p=79386"},"modified":"2026-01-14T12:04:00","modified_gmt":"2026-01-14T12:04:00","slug":"sorensen-on-the-kosovo-serbia-dialogue-i-hope-2026-will-give-us-what-last-year-did-not","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kosovapress.com\/eng\/admin\/sorensen-on-the-kosovo-serbia-dialogue-i-hope-2026-will-give-us-what-last-year-did-not\/","title":{"rendered":"Sorensen on the Kosovo\u2013Serbia dialogue: I hope 2026 will give us what last year did not"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2>The European Union\u2019s Special Envoy for the Kosovo\u2013Serbia dialogue, Peter Sorensen, has called for progress in the Kosovo\u2013Serbia dialogue, reports KosovaPress.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After meeting with President Vjosa Osmani and acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Sorensen said he hopes that during 2026 there will be advancement in the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Danish diplomat also stated that Prime Minister Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic have committed to being ready to meet when the EU calls the parties for a high-level dialogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sorensen\u2019s visit comes after Kosovo\u2019s early parliamentary elections, where Vet\u00ebvendosje Movement (VV) won decisively with over 51 percent of the vote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After meetings in Prishtina, Sorensen will travel to Belgrade for talks with Serbian leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kosovo and Serbia agreed on the Brussels Basic Agreement and the Ohrid Annex in 2023; however, these agreements have not yet been implemented.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The European Union\u2019s Special Envoy for the Kosovo\u2013Serbia dialogue, Peter Sorensen, has called for progress in the Kosovo\u2013Serbia dialogue, reports KosovaPress.
