According to the police, the use of mobile phones while driving remains one of the main causes of road accidents in this part of Kosovo.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result, drivers are facing significant fines for this traffic violation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In fact, in December alone, 268 fines were issued to drivers for using mobile phones while driving, KosovaPress reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Law enforcement authorities have called on all drivers to refrain from using their phones while driving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Ferizaj Regional Police appeal to all road users to remain fully focused on driving and to avoid any kind of distraction, as even a second of inattention caused by mobile phone use can have serious consequences for human lives,\u201d the regional police directorate said in a statement.
