According to political analysts, based on the preliminary results, the Vetëvendosje Movement (LVV) is the clear winner of the elections, while the former opposition parties—PDK, LDK, and AAK—are being urged to reflect and change their political strategy.

According to the Central Election Commission (CEC) results, the Vetëvendosje Movement won 49.34 percent, or 433,394 votes; PDK won 20.98 percent, or 184,318 votes; LDK won 13.57 percent, or 119,201 votes; and AAK won 5.66 percent, or 49,698 votes. The preliminary results do not include votes from the diaspora, conditional votes, or votes of persons with disabilities.

Based on these results, LVV will have 56 MPs, PDK 23 MPs, LDK 15 MPs, AAK 6 MPs, and non-majority communities 20 MPs.

Political analyst Dorajet Imeri told KosovaPress that LVV has a favorable result and that, together with non-Serb minority parties, it will have a stable majority in the Assembly to form the next government.

“The elections that were just held have produced a truly favorable result for the Vetëvendosje Movement. This political entity already has at least 56 MPs, and when minority representatives are added, this will be sufficient to form a solid majority in the Assembly. I expect the new institutions to be constituted very quickly because once the results are certified, everything will be clear, possible, and quickly achievable,” he said.

On the other hand, university professor Mazllum Baraliu says that, based on the election result, there is no reason for delays or political blockades at this stage.

According to him, once the results are certified, the constitutive session of the tenth legislature should be convened and the government formed.

“Since there is the possibility that there will be no paralysis or blockades by anyone in forming the institutions, this work should be done with maximum urgency, while respecting legal deadlines. We need to be able to respond to and address the requirements for approving the budget for the coming year, as well as the ratification of international agreements,” he emphasized.

Speaking about the results of the former opposition parties, Baraliu says that they must seriously reflect by changing their course and political strategy.

“They clearly lost. They should reflect seriously and change their strategic and tactical course,” Baraliu added.

Currently, the CEC is counting votes for candidates for MPs. After this process is completed, the CEC will count conditional votes, votes of persons with disabilities, and diaspora votes.

The early elections of December 28 were held due to a ten-month political crisis during 2025, during which institutions were not formed following the parliamentary elections of February 9.

Rapid formation of institutions is being demanded following the December 28 elections.
